Microsoft beats Apples Revenue in this Quarter.

Technology is a part of life for most of us today. We find ourselves in connection with technology in every sphere of our life. Well, even if you are reading my blog, you are using a technology. There are so many companies trying to get a strong hold in the technology planet.

Microsoft and Apple were two close competitors trying to bag the position of the best technology company. Though Microsoft was leading for almost a few decades, recently, i.e., this May, Apple overtook Microsoft and was crowned the best tech company.

Defeat generally gets your blood boiling, doesn’t it? And when the defeat comes as a blow, taking away your No.1 position, your blood rushes to your brain, urging you win over the competitor by hook or crook. Well, as an individual when you feel such fury, what about a Multinational company like Microsoft?

There comes Microsoft’s Revenge, “Microsoft beats Apple, Microsoft Reports 48% increase in profits”.
The recent reports reveal that Windows revenue was 44% up and Office revenue was 15% up, in the fourth quarter, flooding in $4.5 billion net revenue. After Apple flew with the crown of the technology planet, Microsoft rushed out its man power on its best features, Windows and Office, making it earns an amazing 48% increase in profits. It did make other attempts such as search engines and mobile phones, but they weren’t as successful though.

The company reported a net income of $4.5billion this Thursday; the amount did make a huge difference to the net revenues this year in comparison with the $3.05 billion that the company made last year at the same period of time. The revenue increased by 22% percent within a year to $16.4 billion from $13.1 billion. Guess Microsoft did understand that the time had come to make a difference.

Microsoft’s victory weapon became, its very own home product, Windows 7, that fascinated customers all over the globe,

APPLE iPhone 4G’s iMovie can be hacked to run on iPhone 3GS

Apple is the brand today. Well, I can’t figure out why manufacturers are trying to strike gold with fruits today. We have Apple, Orange, Blackberry and now the latest one being Lemon, fruits seem to have dominated the world of Technology. Well, among the fruits Apple always took the best place, besides, it is expensive also. The same is happening in the Tech Planet too. Apple has successfully won the, “the best” crown and every time it comes out with a new wave of excitement that sometimes creates havoc all over.

For now, the new wave is “Apple iPhone 4G”; the name itself gets you smiling, isn’t it? Our earlier posts have briefed a detailed report on iPhone 4G. Some features of iPhone 4G have made people go ga-ga, but others who are already proud owners of Apple 3GS are a little disappointed as the iPhone 3GS comes minus those super cool features. But TechView never fails, it’s always to brighten up its readers and if you are a iPhone 3GS, you are among the lucky ones.

Apple 4G’s video editing app iMovie, is a wonderful feature brought forth by Apple. But, this amazing feature is officially supported only by iPhone 4, but, now after making you groove over this topic, I will finally get into the news, the current waves says that, the feature can be hacked to run on an iPhone 3GS.Oh’s and Ah’s from all iPhone 3GS users right?

Well, first of all, to hack the iMovie application to run on 3GS, you will have to first jailbreak your iPhone 3GS and a couple of simple edits to Apple’s .ipa file for iMovie. It’s easy enough to find the explanation for this hack if you want to try it out, and you can see it in action in the video below.

But the right now a new current has come with the wave i.e., why is the hack so simple? When Apple 3GS could effectively support iMovie why was it officially housed only on the iPhone 4G? Os it because of the 3GS’s slower CPU and smaller amount of memory? iPhone with 256 MB and iPhone 4g with 512 MB. Or should I say that iPhone 4G wanted one exclusive feature and they made it the iMovie? Well, the ones who own iPhone 3GS needn’t feel low anymore you can now run one of iPhone 4G’s best features on iPhone 3GS, Cheers!!

Nokia C1-00 & C2-00, Dual Sim Handsets from Nokia

Many of us were fascinated by dual sim cellphones. Very unfortunately we weren’t able to find the best ones of the kind. There were dual sim handsets but they dint serve the purpose and finally we would end up managing with the stupid china sets so Chinese that their names would be “Noika” sick as ever.

Nokia was one company that would fulfil the users exception most of the time but when it comes to dual sim handsets they failed. And now finally Nokia has come up for their users again, Nokia introduces Nokia Dual Sim phones Nokia C1-00 and Nokia C2-00, they will be flooding the market at the end of this year

Both can hold 2 Sim cards in them, C1-00 can function with one sim card at any time. Nokia C1-00 is a 2 in 1 Dual Sim phone which has a stand by time of 6 weeks and has a flash light as a torch, a FM radio with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Nokia C2-00 Dual Sim phone also has a FM Radio with 3.5mm headphone jack and its memory can be extended up to 32GB using a Micro SD card making it a store house for huge Audio and Video content. The handsets come with all the other features than normally comes with Nokia minus the Camera.

But, Nokia C2-00 has another amazing feature; it can work with both Sim cards simultaneously. Therefore when you are on a call on one Sim card, you can receive a call or a message on the other Sim card as well. As one Sim card is placed below the battery, the other Sim card can be taken in and out of the phone, even when the phone is ON. Now, that’s one feature we were waiting for. It was quite impossible to keep one sim in unusable mode and the other working wasn't it?. Nokia C2 Dual Sim handset comes with built in with Nokia messaging Application that can push emails from all popular email providers like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Ovi mail etc. Besides, it also comes with Nokia Ovi Life Tools, a Pilot project initiated by Nokia that gives information on healthcare, agriculture, education and entertainment, especially to the developing world.

Speaking of the prices Nokia C1-00 2 in 1 Double Sim phone will be priced at nearly Rs.1800 and Nokia C2-00 Dual Sim phone will be priced at Rs.2700.

Anybody getting restless for its arrival?

Google's New Venture - Redesigned Gtalk Chat Cards

Google is on all ears now. It’s taking up all suitable measures the please the customers somehow. Google has already taken the nods for its amazing search options and the web browser Google Chrome. Besides, its Chrome OS is claimed to be surely on the talks the day it will be released. Its Android has already created waves of excitement all over anyways. Well, the latest improvement or an upgrade in better words is the Google Maps previews and a redesigned chat window.

The contact cards have now been redesigned. The prior ones showed up when you move the mouse over a contact in Gmail. The redesigned ones still contain an image of the contact, their email, and links for quick emailing, chat, and video chat along with the other options but these buttons have shifted from the top to the bottom of the card and the card has now got off its light-blue border, now making it look more like a business card. Google seems to understand the business minded customers or may be the budding business professionals who seem to use Gtalk more than anything else these days.

But with the sweet comes the spice, the only catch is that the users can no longer edit the name of the contact directly from the card , though we can do it in the address book, but you can still change their picture.

These are all very small, cosmetic changes, but when put together, they seem to make a difference indeed. Besides, you can also notice that Gmail has actually changed quite a lot. It’s striving really hard to reach the customers. Guess it’s on the way to fight against Apple. Go on Google you rock.

Roamware’s innovative mobile financial solution enables ATM withdrawals without a physical card

Press Release

NEW DELHI, India, June 17, 2010: Roamware, a global leader in mobile roaming solutions and financial services, announces the global availability of Cardless ATM. The service enables bank customers to withdraw cash from an ATM without the use of a cash card. Cardless ATM can be used in case of loss or theft of a cash card as well as to send money to friends or family at home or abroad.

Cardless ATM is already in use in Europe. Permanent TSB (PTSB) launched the service in Ireland as part of its mobile banking solutions in 2009. Branded as ‘Emergency Cash’, the service allows customers to send €100 to anyone in Ireland simply by sending an SMS. Upon receiving the text message, the recipient may go to any PTSB cash point to withdraw the emergency cash – without the need for an ATM card. Registered customers can request payment five times per month up to a maximum of €500 (€100 per withdrawal). The account holder is charged €2 per withdrawal.

“Emergency Cash is one of the many ways we are differentiated in the market,” said Eamon Martin, Online Development and Mobile Banking Manager at Permanent TSB. “And it gives our customers peace of mind - knowing they still have access to cash if their card is stolen.”

“There is great interest in this product from banks around the world,” said Avnish Chauhan, Executive Vice President at Roamware. “It is particularly of interest in Asia and Africa where banks plan on using it for mobile money purposes, that is to send money to friends and family. This is a cost saving solution that could potentially complement ‘no frills’ bank account offering to underbanked and unbanked communities in developing economies,” added Avnish.

Cardless ATM is one of many mobile financial products that Roamware has made available to banks and mobile operators since the acquisition of mobile financial services developer Macalla Software Ltd in 2009. Other m-commerce and mobile banking solutions offered by Roamware include credit transfers, international remittance, adding prepaid minutes, person to person transactions and bill payment.
